March Madness...

Not just on the basketball court, in our household. March has been crazy busy! Where do I start? Since my last post:
Ashlee came to visit. It was great to have her here in Dallas. We had dinner on Friday at Old Monk near our apartment and crashed early... we are getting tooooo old. Saturday we shopped, sprinkles-ed, and starbucks-ed. It was great. Oh, and we have a new favorite, reverse happy hour at Kona Grill. It's ama-zing.

She flew back to Amarillo at 7:50 on Sunday morning, so by the time she left I was broke and exhausted. Good times with a good friend.

This past weekend Chris and I went out for sushi on Friday. It was delish. Saturday we went to the dog park w/ Livi Bear and relaxed around the house. Saturday night we had our March monthly event at church. Before the actual event we went to dinner at John & Bobbi's. After dinner we headed to Allen for dessert and game night. I made a yummy cinnamon pound cake for the event.
This weekend the Jones family invades Dallas... duh duh dun.

Bye bye old blue...

It's time to say goodbye to my "old faithful" computer, old blue. This computer was indestructable. It's helped me with many research papers, and stored all of my pictures. It lived through moves, viruses, and the occasional drop on the head. With bittersweet emotion... I retired old blue.

Congrats Chris!

CHRIS GOT A SUMMER JOB!!!
Chris is officially employed as a summer clerk at Hunter Kalinke and Boyd. He had an interview last Friday and was hired on the spot. He went in on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week for training and starts working 12 hours/week as soon as this brief is finished.

We are so thankful for this opportunity. We thought that this summer Chris would be working for free for a judge in Dallas gaining very little hands on experience. This opportunity aids our family with a pay increase as well as providing Chris with hands on experience.

This week was Chris's spring break. We didn't do anything exciting. It's sad because it's our first year out of undergrand and the first year we haven't gone anywhere. Last year we had the couple's ski trip to Angel Fire, the year before I went to Cali, and actually the year before that I went to Cali with Kayla.

LAST YEAR IN ANGEL FIRE w/ TAY 2008
LAGUNA BEACH 2007
OHHHHH!! So I was sitting on the floor arranging our DVD shelf when I realized the massive amounts of hair that have accumulated around the baseboards in our apartment. Sooo it motivated me to do something about it. Hince our purchase of the "furminator". It is awesome. She let me sit and brush her out for half an hour on Sunday. It's amazing how much hair came off of that dog.

Worlds?

Mom and Codi were here this weekend for NCA Nationals. They flew in on Friday and we did the usual PF Changs thing. Saturday we went out to Northpark and shopped around and then went to watch Co compete. It was a huge competition and they were up against 11 or 17 (can't remember) teams.

They did really well both days... so well that they got a world bid. Looks like Cheer Texas is going to make their first ever appearance at WORLDS. It's funny how to look back at how Cheer Texas was 10 years ago... Nathan was the sole coach in the little strip center gym and we thought that getting a backhand tuck was the ultimate challenge. Ha.

Cancelled Plans/Relaxing Weekend

Well Miss Ashlee was supposed to come visit this weekend. On Thursday she called to cancel and I was pretty bummed. HOWEVER it turned out to be a great weekend with my hubs.

I still took off for a couple hours on Friday afternoon and took my sweet Ollie girl to the dog park. Then we went to the grocery store and got yummies for the weekend.

Saturday was filled with more dog park, Allen Outlets, home cooked meals, and quality time with our little family.

We've been realllly good about our work out regiment. 2 times a day this entire weekend. GO US! Now we've just got to keep it up.

In other news: we're having a nother nephew! Mitch and Lacey will definitely have their hands full with 2 little boys this close in age!

V: Vegas & Valentines

Last weekend we celebrated our "shaniversary" --as Chris calls it--and went to Vegas! It was a much needed get away for the both of us. We went to see Elton John (ama-zing) and Love (Beatle's Cirque du Solei). Chris had excellent luck at the tables ending up $300 ahead at the end of the weekend.

The trip was definitely enjoyable. Good food (Sushi Samba and Boa), good shopping, and good company.

Saturday was Valentines. Friday traffic was unbearable... seriously took 1 1/2 to make it my 19 miles home. I got home to a bottle of wine, dark chocolate, and a card with money for the sandals I've been eyeing. I am so lucky.

Saturday afternoon we saw Confessions of a Shopaholic, He's Just not that Into You, and Taken. All good.

a very Demere weekend.

Mom & Codi flew in on Friday for a cheerleading competition. The weekend was filled with good food and shopping, two of my favorite things.

Cheer Texas did better than I've seen them do in a couple years on Saturday. I didn't get to watch on Sunday, but I heard they didn't do as well as expected. They came out winning first place, and having a good run at overall, so Codi was pleased.

We went to a superbowl party in Allen last night. What a drive. It made me realize how much I like where we live. I am not sure I'm ready for life in "suburbia."

Vegas this weekend. I've been listening to Elton John on Pandora in preperation for the concert.
