We Made It!

Monday was our 1 year anniversary! Time flies! It's crazy to think of everything going on this time last year. What wonderful memories.

We watched our wedding video for the first time in a year. I wish I knew how to post it on here.

We brought our cake top back from Canyon. For some odd reason Perry left the live flowers on the side of the cake. Once Chris saw those it was over for him... I on the other hand had a couple bites. It's still sitting in our fridge because I can't find it in my heart to throw it away.
Tonight we're doing our anniversary celebration. Dinner at Hector's on Henderson then out to ring in 2009!
In other news we survived Christmas! Dallas to Canyon, Canyon to Robert Lee, Robert Lee to San Angelo, San Angelo to Canyon, Canyon to Amarillo, Amarillo to Dallas.... more on Christmas at a later date.

Turkey Day!!

Turkey Day came and went.....

I had to work Wednesday & Friday so the Demeres/Hoods ventured to Dallas! I am so thankful for family that will go to extreme measures to spend the Holidays together.

Mom & Co arrived Tuesday night with Nena & Grandad and my dad arriving Wednesday. Low & behold I got to leave work 2 hours early, which was an awesome surprise! Just beating traffic is enough to make my day.

Their time spent here was dominated by good food and shopping, 2 of my favorite things.

This Thanksgiving I am thankful for many things, but here are my top 5:
1. a family full of unconitional love. From my husband to my parents to my in-laws to my extended family I never for a second doubt their love.
2. friends... the good kind that aren't fair weather friends, but the ones who will always be there.
3. the new opportunities God has given Chris & I. If this time a year ago you had told me this is how things would work I wouldn't have believed you.
4. happiness. cheesy, I know. But I have so many things to be happy about.
5. CHRISTMAS TIME. It just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

Here Lately...

Our trip to Lubbock didn't go as well as planned. We lost... bad, and the Red Raider fans didn't hesitate to rub it in. Other than our butt kickin' in Jones stadium our trip home was awesome. It was great to get to spend time with our families.

Much of Chris's time has been devoted to the memo. He spent many long hours at the library over the past cople weeks. It was due on Thursday so now we are MEMO FREE! Praise Jesus!!

Last weekend we did a whole lot of nothing. We prepared for my family, who is arriving today, for Thanksgiving. Saturday we watched the Sooners dominate Tech. Even though I have a vengeance toward Oklahoma, it was nice to see Tech with their tail between their legs.

We went Christmas shopped, went to brunch on Greenville, and saw the new Bond movie (overrated).

Here's some pictures of the Tech/OSU game.

Happy Halloweenie!

Friday night was Halloween! BOO! A bunch of the law school people and their significant others got together and then went to the bars. While Chris joined in as the 3rd member of Motley Crew, I went a safer route, as Audrey Hepburn.
Saturday we went to dinner at one of our favorite places, Travernas, in the Knox/Henderson area. It has THE BEST rissoto known to mankind. No lie. After our fabulous rissoto we had intentions of going to the movies, but first we ran home so I could grab a sweater. Welll... we never made it. The Tech UT game was far more interesting.

So Sunday afternoon consisted of a "2-fer" at the Northpark movie theater.
We saw Rock and Rolla and Zack and Miri.

The election was yesterday. Obama won. No big surprise there.
It'll be interesting to see what the next 4 years have in store for Americans.

This weekend we are going home, then to Lubbock to watch Oklahoma State battle it out in Jones Stadium. It should be an excellent game with Tech as #2 and OSU as #9! GO POKES!

Go Pokes

This weekend was rather uneventful. Friday night Wally came over. It was great to see him.
We all ended up at Bar Review for a little bit, but realized our old age when we left after an hour.

Saturday we gathered at our aparement to watch the Cowboys take on UT. It was a great game for both teams,
but in the end the Longhorns came up victorious.

Sunday we went to brunch in our neighborhood which was a nice change of pace. We got to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. Somehow I convinced Chris to go to Northpark with me. Well... Northpark turned into the Galleria and the Galleria turned into the Allen Outlets and we spent the day re-vamping Chris's wardrobe.
--Side Note: We saw Jason Castro at Northpark!!--

Our newest toys are our bicycles!! The weather has been so pretty we couldn't resist!

Oh, Ollie got spiffed up too with a new purple collar and leash!!

Check it out:

Busy Weekend!!

This weekend was very eventful from start to finish.

Friday night we went to dinner at Buca with our new friends T.J. and Erin. They both did their undergrad at Tech (T.J. is in law school and Erin finishes in December... and she's a kappa!)
Saturday was Carter Man's 1st birthday party. We spent the afternoon with Chris's family celebrating. It's crazy he's already a year old!! He's growing like a little weed.

Saturday night we went to the SMU Law tailgate. FREE FOOD!

Sunday morning started with the dog park, as most do. Followed by a trip to Las Colinas to meet Collin & Whit for lunch. It was great to see them, even thought it was a short visit.

After our lunch with the Kinsers we met the Hoodlums' at the Texas State Fair. It was the last day it was here in Dallas, so we couldn't resist. We resisted the urge to spend $15 on the rides, but we definitely enjoyed the fried food and petting zoo! I think they have fried everything... fried cokes, fried cookie dough, chicken fried bacon, and fried latte just to name a few.

23 Candles...

What an amazing 23rd birthday! I am so blessed!

It started with a trip home and a little family reunion. Saturday afternoon the Hoodlums, my in-laws and my immediate family had a little b-day party for me at my parents' house.
Any time the Hoods get together it's a good time. They are so much fun.
That night was WT's homecoming vs. Midwestern. So of course we went to watch Deis cheer.
Around the 3rd quarter it began to pour down rain.

On my actual birthday, which was Wednesday, I had to work. Bum deal. After work Chris surprised me with presents, dinner & a movie. He is such an adorable husband.
--side note: Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist really funny, right up our alley--
What a fun birthday. My heart is so happy.
