Spa Day... The Outcome

Oh. My. Goodness.

Can we say awkward?
When we arrived we were ushered to a dressing room and told to get dressed in the robes. Hold up: do we take off our bras or leave them on? On one hand I didn't want to be the naive little girl who leaves her bra on for a massage, but I also didn't wanna be the hoochie mamma. I honestly had no clue. So I start racking my brain... think Shanna, think.... And I remember the scene in the movie Because I Said So. (you know, the mom & sisters are all getting massaged as Mandy Moore's character cries with her head in the whole-- yada yada). Answer= no bra. Crisis averted.
When we entered the massage room we were greeted by 2 massuses; a man and a woman. (This wasn't just any man: He was middle aged, foreign, and what always imagined a real life pedifile to look like.) So they told us to undress, get under the covers. The man would be at the left table leaving the woman at the right; Our choice. Hmmm ... let my 14 year old sister go with the pedifile or suck it up & let him massage me?!? So I got massaged/felt up/violated by the nasty 40 something man. He even went so far to tuck the sheet into my panties. I'm thinking this might have been my first and only massage.

The rest of the weekend was really good. Codi and I saw 2 movies: Kick Ass and The Last Song. They were total opposites, but both good. We sat in the 40mph wind and witnessed Canyon kick beat PD in baseball (20-0... how sad is that?). I'm thankful for these weekends with my sister. It's hard to believe how close we are considering the age difference. She's at such a cool age right now. She's not quite an adult, but she's really fun to hang out with & we actually have quite a bit in common.
On Sunday mom & dad flew in a little after noon, so we were able to grab lunch with them and spend some quality time before my flight. They even surprised me with a new Tory Burch bag in gratitude for staying with my sister. Best parents ever.

&&& I love my husband even though he got 3 tickets last week.... & pulled over twice. He has the worst luck with cops.

Spa Day!

I'm not really a spa person. I don't particularly care for people rubbing up on me & getting all up in my grill. I rarely even like my husband that close, much less a complete stranger. Never-the-less I agreed to a spa date with Codi this weekend. I did my research on the spas in Amarillo and came up with The Scarlet Door. There were several different options, but this one had the best package deals & promised we could be together the whole time. Done.
I secretly hope I get to wear a green avacado face mask and put cucumbers over my eyes.. That'd make a fun photo op.

We don't really have any other plans set for the weekend. Maybe a movie, definitely good food, probably a CHS baseball game, whatever we feeeel like!

&&& I love my husband because he doesn't get mad or sad when I fly the coop while he's studying for finals... He actually prefers I do. He says I am too much of a distraction... me? require his attention? Never....

Blah Blah Blah

In the words of that new song Keesha our lives have been, "Blah Blah Blah." I guess that's why I haven't blogged lately; there is nothing even somewhat interesting to report. I work all the time & the hubbs is consumed with law school/part time job. The little free time we do have is spent lovin' on our sweet little goldens.

Evidently I have a problem staying in one place for too long. Since my last post I went back to Canyon (& am going back on Friday). I blame it on losing my husband to law school finals... Speaking of law school Chris has 1 class week left & 2 weeks of finals before he is a 3L. Woo. It's crazy/exciting to think that this time next year he will be GRADUATING! I cannot wait. Cannot wait.

We went on a Pub Crawl this weekend, which was fun. We started at Old Monk and ended at Vickery Place. At the first place I was pretty pumped because they had Strongbow (my fave beer from London). I was really bummed because when I took my first sip it just wasn't as good as I remembered. Had I built it up too much or was it the travel "across the pond" that ruined it? Any-who we made it to the first 2 bars on the pub crawl and then called it quits. We were hungry and tired. So we opted for Thai food takeout and a movie at home. We are officially the old married couple.

In other recent news we debated moving into a house, but after weighing our pros and cons (and seeing that our potential new neighbors shared a very strong resemblance to Bo & Luke Duke) we decided we'd rather stay in our cozy town home. I just love it too much to move.

Last Friday Chris had a nice little sit down with the partners at HKB &..... HE GOT AN OFFICIAL JOB! For positives. **Sigh of relief** Only downside is that we might have to stay in Dallas for an extra year. Wamp wamp wamp. I have mixed emotions about this. On the positive side: Dallas isn't that bad. There's so much to do here & we are so familiar with the area. It could be worse and we could be moving to somewhere totally random. I can continued to work at ButSchein & we would be able to save money for a down payment on a home. On the negative side: I am so excited to be back to the Panhandle, where all our family is. It just can't come soon enough. I constantly remind myself how blessed we are that Chris was given an opportunity 1.right out of law school 2. in Amarillo 3. for a company that he adores 4. working for a boss that he idolizes. God is faithful and does provide. Amen!

&&& I love my husband because no matter how appealing it was to have a yard, he decided that my safety comes first. (That's right !! Back off Bo & Luke. Chris Jones has my back )

Hoppy Easter

This past weekend was Easter weekend, so we headed to Lawton to celebrate with the Kelseys. Chris's Gramma Kelsey's birthday fell on Saturday, so we were able to celebrate with her over lunch while we were there. Kelsey family get togethers are a tad bit overwhelming. Ellen has 6 siblings and Chris has something like 35 first cousins, who now all have kids. At most Kelsey family events 40 people is considered a low turnout. It baffles my mind. My little family is nowhere near the size of Chris's.

It was great to spend Easter with family. We got to see the nephews all dressed up in their Easter bests & Carter even got to participate in the Kelsey great grandkid egg hunt. We even got to eat Chinese buffet for Easter lunch... evidently this is Kelsey tradition.

Since we were only gone for a night & Chris's grandparents live on a farm our two golden children went with us. During the day they were able to run around on the farm & then they spent the night at the Laquinta Lawton with us. We've done this several times before and it usually works out fine. This time we had a major Ollie issue. The girl loves the smell of manure! Since Gramma and Grandpa Kelsey have lots of cows there is no shortage of manure. It took Ollie 20 minutes to discover the poo, cover her whole body in it & come find us to show of her new scent. This would've been ok had we not been staying in a tiny hotel room with her that night. Soooo Chris got his Gramma's water hose and completely drenched our baby girl with hopes that it would rid her of the odor. Nope. Lovely, just lovely.
&&& I love my husband because someday we will have a BIG family of our own. That's one thing we always agree on.
